“So honey, what did you do today at school?” asked Prana.
“Nothin’ much, but I did see some 5th graders train for loop de loops in flying class.” said Dharma. “Mommy, why do I have to have these baby wings?”
“It’s the way God made you. He made every fairy perfect, but different.” said Prana. “Life would be sooo boring if everyone were exactly the same. Don’t you think?”
“Yes, but why can’t I just have freckles, or a really neat long second toe,” said Dharma. “Or, a twisted nose that makes me look tough. Or, really long fanged teeth that make me look like a vampire fairy, oooohhheeeeeoooooo.”
They both made funny fang faces and giggled when Boppy got scared and flew into the closet.
“God made you special for a very good reason.” said Prana holding up a special treat for Boppy to come out of his closet. “We may not know why your wings are taking longer to grow, but I guarantee you that it’s for a very good reason.”
“I know, I know,” said Dharma moaning. “I’mmm speeeeecial”.
Prana continued explaining, while Dharma started to think about doing loop de loops with a big bright set of huge strong wings. Then she started to think about how she was going to sneak into the fairy dust room again without Dawn finding out. Then she started to think about the chocolate cake that Prana made earlier that day.
“DHARMA!” Prana got loud, took a breath and said, “Please start your yoga, then you can have some chocolate cake.”
“Chocolate cake….” Chanted Dharma starting her yoga poses…downward dog…childs pose….easy pose…pose pose pose.
“Mommy, I’m stuck again,” said Dharma in the forward bend pose, resting her whole weight on her head, with her hands clamped together through her legs.
“I don’t think I taught you that one,” giggled Prana.
“I don’t know how to untie,” squealed Dharma.
“Oh, you know what that means?” asked her mommy.
“Nooooo you don’t,” said Dharma.
“There’s only one way to un-stick a stuck fairy,” said Prana.
“Noooooo!” yelled Dharma trying very hard to un-stick herself and not fall over at the same time.
Prana ran into the room and started to tickle Dharma. The giggles somehow always unstick Dharma even when she is in pretzel pose. Once unstuck, she got up and started to run away, but her mommy caught her and grabbed her little butt.
“Ha ha ha,” both the fairies giggled and tickled each other, falling and tumbling on the floor….making Boppy jump up and once again run into his closet.
“There is absolutely NO giggling in this house,” declared Prana, “You should know that by now.” Lifting Dharma’s shirt off of her belly and then giving her a belly button raspberry…..”NNNNOOOOOO!!!!!!”
…..Boppy stayed in her closet the rest of the day.
